About Us!

Karen Cameron-Brook, “Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. . .”  St. Francis of Asissi

A shy, retiring girl from North Dakota had a tiny, insignificant voice - at times, no voice at all. But the Lord had grander plans and she soon discovered a voice stronger and more far-reaching than she could have imagined. Chosing adventure over security, seeking Truth, Light and Purpose, she embarked on a surprising journey.

A Boston jazz and big band singer, the former Miss Bismarck, Karen Cameron has sung in 38 states, Europe and South America. She has performed with Fred Waring’s Pennsylvanians, the Glenn MIller Orchestra, the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, Bing Crosby, Bob Hope and her own band, “Something Cool.” Among her many recordings, are two solo CDs, “Young And Foolish Again” and “A Quiet Place.”  See her web site: www.karencameron.com .

Formerly an elementary school teacher and now a private voice /piano instructor, Karen has found time to mentor students and publish a book, “Prayer And All That Jazz.” She and Linda Brown are collaborating on a second book, “She Sees Angels.”

Karen credits the Lord and the Christian Healing Ministry with equipping her to minister to the sick, hurting and needy through prayer ministry, Celebrate Recovery and missionary work in Ethiopia. The founder of “Lost And Found,” she has led worship for Christian churches and produced concerts for African missions. She lives on the New Hampshire Seacoast with her husband, bassist Mitch Brook.

I sing for the humble & the hungry,
The poor in spiritual wealth.
I sing for those who have abandoned hope,
And those who have lost their song.

I sing with joy and inner peace,
For miracles yet to come;
With music that lifts us over the rainbow,
In thanks for God's boundless love!

Karen Cameron-Brook

Mitch Brook plays bass and is our rock and roll, sometimes country voice. Originally from the NY City area, Mitch is a professional musician who formerly played in Top Forty bands, 10 piece Soul Bands, the Maggie Scott Jazz Trio, the Al Vega Trio, Something Cool and the Sharon Jones’ Statestreet Rhythm and Blues Band. He currently plays with an original Christian band, Stillwater, several Bethany praise bands and free lances on bass. Mitch is a piano technician and motor scooter enthusiast who has a heart for the children he has met in Ethiopia. His three mission trips to Africa have left him hungry for more.

Linda Brown, our contralto with a love of jazz ballads, is a Wisconsin native who has now been living in Kittery, Maine for the past 27 years. "LB" is a cabinetmaker by trade who is in the process of returning to her God given talent of sculpture, painting and design with the development of "Freedom Studios".  This single gem is presently co-authoring a book with Karen, sharing the story of her sexual abuse as a teenager in hopes of offering encouragement and hope to others who have been abused. She is looking forward to finally realizing a childhood dream of mission work as she travels with Karen and Mitch for her first trip to Ethiopia.

"God has taken me on one wild ride so far and He's not done with me yet!"

Jay Halloran lends his smooth, warm, baritone voice in frequent solos while otherwise enjoying the bass parts. He was born in Presque Isle, Maine and lived in Mars Hill, Maine but moved to the New Hampshire seacoast at 5 years old.  He now resides in Hampton with his wife Kathe and is a member of Bethany Church.  Jay is a Territory Account Manager for a major Automotive Marketing Services firm.  He is also building a business based in the health and nutrition field.  His daughter, Julie, also lives in Hampton with her husband and their four children.  Jay enjoys being an active grandparent and is frequently involved with their activities.

"I’ve had first hand experience with God’s healing power; several years ago, I had cancer.  I remember listening to my doctor on the phone confirming what I had dreaded.  But while he was talking to me, at some point I realized that I was already praying.  I said, ‘Lord, this is more than I can deal with and I’m turning it all over to you’ and I asked Him to heal me.  Immediately after I had prayed, a sense of peace came over me; I somehow knew I’d be OK and I wasn’t afraid. I was even able to enjoy a vacation without telling the rest of the family until after we’d returned. I’m cancer free today and all the glory goes to Him!”

I love being part of Lost and Found.  Besides treasuring the fellowship of our ‘small group’ it gives me a way to do what I love most to do – ‘I will sing and make music to the Lord’ – Psalm 27:6”

Nancy Kilpatrick, originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, now lives in York, Maine and works as a registered nurse in the Birthing Unit at York Hospital.  She has three sons, a 13-year-old and two who are in their mid-twenties and married. Nancy is an excellent sight reader and comes from a classical and choral background.

“Singing in Lost and Found is a sincere joy for me.  In it, I have found an avenue for ministry and fellowship with like-minded believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, as well as the opportunity to sing with some incredibly talented people whom I love and admire.”

“I have had the opportunity for the last three summers to serve on a medical missions team ministering to the orphaned and destitute in Malawi and Uganda.   This has been an incredibly heartbreaking and heartwarming experience for me, and I have found a purpose in this ministry unlike any other I have ever known.  I am hoping to go to Malawi for a year next September to investigate the possibility of starting a mother/baby clinic there, and possibly to northern Uganda to establish a medical ministry to people in displacement camps.  I look forward to watching God work to make this dream a reality.”

Jane Langmaid, "One Thanksgiving, while praying and giving thanks, I asked “What can I do for you Lord, you who have done so much for me?” In a way I feared what he might say, due to the inherent difficulty of what he might ask, due to laziness on my part or some inadequacy. But I knew I needed to offer back something special to him in thanks.

He said only one single word to my surprise. Out of nowhere, I heard it clearly! The Lord God of the Heavens and the Earth with all he could have, with all he could ask for, he said “SING!” I could not believe my ears. I could not believe my heart which soared with joy and relief. He simply asked me to do what he had already prepared me to do. A wonderful task I could do in freedom, ease, and in good pleasure. Be faithful to sing was all I felt in my soul! Does an eagle fly, does a doctor heal, does a messenger carry the news, does a doe nibble on grass? He created me, Jane Ellen Langmaid, to sing! How marvelous!

May he receive our song in true pleasure which He SO well deserves and as our simple gift back to him. For this he has made us, for this and more…but for this, simply to SING, even this, is enough in Him! May his kingdom which will NEVER END enjoy this music and may those He seeks to draw in, the Lost…may they be Found by Him amidst our humble but joyful and united singing!"

Jason MacDougall, our gospel/blues soloist, plays guitar, leads worship, and is a man of many talents. Though he makes a living as a carpenter and tile expert, he is an artist, a cook, and has a photographic memory for trivia as well as subjects not-so-trivial. Jason has lived in the Portsmouth/Kittery area all his life, has three beautiful daughters and four grandchildren.

“The journey begins new every day and the pain we may feel is the deep longing of our soul desiring to touch God’s heart. Throw yourself headlong into the search and not only will you touch God’s heart but you will be thirsty for more - not satisfied until you see Him face to face.”

Debby Wyman, our accompanist, has resided in seacoast New Hampshire for the last thirty-three years.  A homemaker and mom, she keeps busy raising and homeschooling the last two of her six children.  Playing the piano has always been a part of her life, weaving in and out of each season, from the age of four through college, marriage, and children.  Classically trained, she has accompanied school choruses, church choirs, soloists, instrumentalists, shows such as Godspell, Joseph, I Do I Do, The Mikado, and others, various cabarets, and, more recently, her church praise bands.  She has loved every minute of it and now has the joy and privilege of playing for Lost and Found.

“Though I have received much joy in playing over the years, I have found it most soul-satisfying and fulfilling playing for my God - worshiping Him and leading others into His presence.  As we enthrone Him in our praises, He comes to us in a way that is beyond understanding.  He comes to love, to heal, to strengthen, and to fill as we lift our music up to Him.  With the psalmist ‘I will sing (play) to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing (play) praise to my God while I have my being.’ (Ps. 104:33)”
